Director
The Transportation
Authority of Marin is pleased to announce the appointment of Dianne
Steinhauser as TAM Executive Director on July 7, 2005. Ms.
Steinhauser will begin her work with TAM on August 24, 2005.

Stakeholder Committee
Applications for the
Canal Neighborhood
Community Based Transportation Plan
The City of San Rafael and TAM will receive funds from the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission (MTC) to develop a Community Based
Transportation Plan (CBTP) in the Canal neighborhood. The plan will
include a list of important improvements needed to make it easier to get
around the Canal and other destinations.
To guide the planning project,
the San Rafael City Council is creating a "Canal Stakeholder Committee."
The Stakeholder Committee members will work with their neighbors and other
interested people to learn about transportation issues, identify and
evaluate possible solutions, and recommend a list of improvements that
will make it safer and more comfortable for people to walk, bike and use a
bus in the Canal.
The City of San Rafael is
accepting applications for appointment to the Canal Stakeholder Committee,
which will include residents, property and business owners, and people who
work in the Canal. The Committee will begin work this fall, meet
approximately five (5) times, including two community-wide workshops.

Transit District Summer Meetings
The Marin County Board of Supervisors and the Marin County Transit
District (MCTD) invite the public and press to participate in MCTD's five
(5) evening discussions/meetings this summer to help shape the future of
transit service in Marin County.

Citizens' Oversight
Committee
On June 23, 2005, TAM appointed members to a
local Measure A "Citizens' Oversight Committee."
The Citizens' Oversight Committee will review all sales tax related
expenditures of TAM and will report directly to the public.
However, TAM is still accepting Citizens' Oversight Committee
applications for certain vacant areas of representation, including:

Technical Advisory Committee
On June 23, 2005, TAM appointed members to a
local Measure A "Technical Advisory Committee." The
Technical Advisory Committee is
charged with reviewing proposals and making recommendations for Federal
and State transportation funding programs, as well as recommendations on
the annual work program and biennial strategic plan of TAM, which identify
priorities for infrastructure projects and the dates for project
implementation based on performance criteria outlined in Measure A.
