Located on Smith Ranch Road in San Rafael, only 1 mile east of Highway 101, the park is easily accessed by the entire Marin County community.

McInnis Park Master Plan Update

NOTE:

The location of the December 18, 2008, Parks and Open Space Commission meeting has been moved to the Marin County Retirement Association Board Room, One McInnis Parkway, San Rafael. Although the meeting begins at 1:30 p.m., the draft Master Plan update is on the agenda at 2:30 p.m.

There was a second workshop for public review and comment of the McInnis Park Master Plan Update alternatives on Monday, November 17, 2008. The following two alternatives were reviewed:

The McInnis Park Master Plan Update is targeted to address five specific items:
• relocation of the currently master planned dog park;
• relocation of the currently master planned children’s play area;
• developing a location for petanque courts;
• consideration of synthetic fields;
• developing a location for a group picnic area.

On Thursday, October 2, the Marin County Department of Parks and Open Space conducted a workshop to review McInnis Master Plan Update alternatives prepared by consultant Royston Hanamoto Alley and Abey. The public reviewed four alternatives and provided comment and suggestion. The alternatives in their original form are shown below.
